China: The Origin of Tea w/ Western Immortal

Join us as we journey through the history and tradition of tea in China. China is the ancient origin of tea and has cultivated an enormous wealth of tea varieties and tea traditions. In this class we will overview many types of major Chinese teas, Chinese history as it relates to tea, and Chinese tea farming and production. We will be sampling many types of teas in order to assist in our understanding and appreciation of Chinese teas. China’s history and manifestations of tea are gigantic, and this class hopes to serve as an introduction and overview of this vast tradition. Tea newcomers and connoisseurs alike are welcome.
