May Day Art Exhibit

May Day, originally referred to as Beltane, is an ancient tradition that marks the midway between spring equinox and summer solstice. Gatherings are held with offerings made while bonfires blaze and people dance the dance of the gods. This is a time of year to celebrate the life-giving rays of the Sun as it brings fertility and abundance back to this part of the Earth. Yesmara, a curator for the Phoenix & Dragon Bookstore’s gallery, is working with the Art Career Mentoring Services (ACMS) program at Kennesaw State University to present the students’ Spring art exhibition, The May Day Show. Come meet the artists at the opening reception on Sunday, May 7th from 4:00pm to 5:30pm. The show will remain on display through the mid June.
